Armistice Living Tribute was a unique show celebrating the centenary of the end of World War I. Traveling around Victoria, this show utilized participating towns community brass brands, playing era appropriate marches. Telling the story of service men in the Great War, Australia’s brass bands also served as medics, fearlessly treading the battlefield with their stretchers to rescue fallen soldiers. Put on by Cultural Infusion, six circus performers told the tale while performing acrobatics as well as playing alongside the bands. Musical tradition is strong, and often the names you see on the placards of World War I still have members of their family in those community brass bands. This show had amazing community involvement and an incredible emotional impact, using communities talents and honouring their past and current service to Australia.

Matt, as well as performing, also worked as musical director, coordinating between the various community bands and the circus elements.
